July 1 Climbing Wall
After our last visit people where very enthused and it was decided to return on a regular basis, could this be the start of the Tigris climbing section?
July 15 Gardening
Not the most exciting event but it needs doing and we are the service crew. At least we can work up a thirst for the regular after meet debrief.
August
Thinking of a day in the sun with a BBQ and a choice of shopping, rock climbing and sunbathing. We have a venue in mind near Tunbridge Wells that has the advantage of a very nice venu for the debrief. Let me know if you have a preference for what weekend.

Looking Back

Sunday 14th May 2006 Off Roading

90 downhill
We took over a large field for the weekend and just had fun in the mud. Shortly after starting Carl managed to sink his Range Rover to the axels and nothing short of building a road underneath it was going to get it free, so that is what we did. Now you all know that I (Carl) like to be creative and having both my cars there it was a perfect opoutunity to try out an idea that had been in my mind and I would like to thank all there that helped me. Click here to see just how daft we can be.
Whilst the main event was the off roading some parents used the safe environment to give their children a driving experience and the Moke was ideal for this leading to huge smiles on small faces. Also many adults could not resist taking it for a spin and now everybody wants one except Andrew who could have done with something slightly larger to say the least.

5th - 7th May 2006 District Cub Camp Catering
Our job was: Basic camp menu for 100 kids and all the leaders, with extra numbers being added late on this became closer to 200 but being Tigris we handled it with style. Why is it the harder we have to work the more we seem to laugh. I have been promiced some photos and you will see them shortly after I do.

Chipping Sodbury Beer Festival

Whats better than a beer festival ? How about a beer festival with camping. Tigris this year discovered a lovely little festival in Chipping Sodbury with free onsite camping. Naturally we had to check it out so a brave party of volunteers ventured forth.

What we found was a very big tent and for once we did not have to put it up, Along one wall of this tent was a bar no a bar is too small a word for such a smorgesboard of beers to delight the heart and pallet. A sea of casks streching much to far for one days drinking. So we just might have to go back.

Waterfall Walk

Feubuary saw a brave group of Tigris members and friends ventureing far west into Wales for a dirty weekend. Well cold wet and muddy anyway.

The weather was changeable to say the least we had the lot from Bright sunshine through drizzle to torrential rain, thick for and heavy snow. It was Wales after all.

The accomadation was all it needed to be, clean and warm. Also as most people have more sence we had the place to ourselves.

We traveled down on the Friday night stayed up a bit too late chatting Had the main walk on the Saturday then on Sunday did a couple more waterfalls then we visited the largest showcave complex in Europe and attempted / failed to visit Castle Goch, a real fairy tale style castle complete with pointed roofs on tall towers poking above the trees. Being winter it closed early and we missed it.

Being Tigris there was a pub involved and the welcome was very warm and friendly even lunchtime when we where more mud than skin.

We returned that evening all washed and polished for some good Welsh home cooking and of course some marvelous Welsh ale.

The explorer unit may be visiting the area next February so if you missed this trip or want to do it again we will need adult support.

The weekend went very well in fact I think I only got one complaint and that was when somebody slipped and broke a fingernail I leave you to guess who it was.
